Inventory for MSPs that actually move hardware

Multi-warehouse stock, purchase-order lifecycle, automated reordering, serial tracking, and shipping integrations — all wired into your tickets, projects, and invoices so a piece of hardware has one place to live across its entire lifecycle.

What you get

A real inventory module — not the “product list with quantities” that PSAs tend to ship as inventory. OriginPSA tracks stock across multiple warehouses, runs the full purchase-order lifecycle, automates reordering when you cross thresholds, tracks serialized assets through their full life, and integrates with shipping carriers so the tracking number your tech ships ends up on the right customer ticket automatically.

Capabilities

Product Catalog

Real-time stock counts across all warehouses. SKUs, vendor codes, cost and sell prices, multi-tier pricing per customer or contract. Bulk import via CSV or API.

Purchase Orders

Full PO lifecycle: draft → issued → partial receive → fully received. Receiving updates stock automatically. Variances flagged before they become accounting problems.

PO Returns (RMA)

Generate RMA requests against received POs when hardware arrives damaged or wrong. Return-shipment tracking, vendor credit reconciliation, and ticket linkage built in.

Multi-Warehouse Locations

Track stock across multiple physical locations (main warehouse, customer-site staging, technician trucks). Transfers between locations with audit trail.

Vendor Management

Vendor records with payment terms, lead times, preferred-status flags, and performance history. Multiple vendors per SKU. Auto-select preferred vendor when generating POs.

Reorder Automation

Configurable reorder points and reorder quantities per SKU. Daily check generates draft POs to review. Low-stock alerts to ops staff before customers feel it.

Serial Number Tracking

Track serialized assets from receipt through deployment. Link serials to customers, projects, or tickets. Dell warranty lookup for Dell hardware shows entitlement and expiry inline.

Pick Lists

Generate pick lists against open invoices or project task allocations. Warehouse staff scan items off the list; stock decrements on pick complete. Reduces double-shipping and miscounts.

Kits & Assemblies

Bundle multiple SKUs into a kit. Selling the kit deducts component stock. Useful for standard project bundles (e.g., "new-employee setup kit") or hardware bundles for resale.

Shipping Integrations

ShipStation for the heaviest shipping volume. Direct UPS, FedEx, and USPS integrations for label generation and tracking. Tracking numbers attach to the originating ticket or project.

eCommerce Sync

Shopify and eBay integrations sync product catalog and pull orders into the system. Sold inventory decrements automatically; fulfillment routes to the same ticket queue your service desk runs.

Who this is for

  • MSPs reselling hardware. SKUs, multi-tier customer pricing, POs to distributors, receiving against POs, kit assemblies for standard bundles. Every piece of hardware is traceable from purchase through deployment.
  • AV integrators with project-based equipment lists. Each project has a bill-of-materials. POs generated from project BOMs. Receiving links to the project. Equipment shipped logs to the project record.
  • MSPs running multiple warehouse locations. Main warehouse, customer-site staging, truck stock for techs. Transfers between locations are tracked. Reorder points per location, not just per SKU.

How it compares

ConnectWise Manage and Autotask both have product catalogs but no real warehouse, purchase-order, or shipping management. The typical workaround: a separate inventory system (NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, a dedicated tool) with manual reconciliation to the PSA.

OriginPSA includes inventory, multi-warehouse, purchase orders, reorder automation, serial tracking, kits, and shipping integrations on the Professional tier. No separate system. The product you sell on a customer's invoice is the same product that just shipped from your warehouse.

Pricing & availability

Inventory and procurement are included on Professional ($49/user/month) and above. Approval workflows on purchase orders and CMDB-style configuration-item linking are Enterprise ($79/user/month). See the pricing page for the full matrix.
