Why we built this

The big-name PSAs were designed in the 2000s for a different era of MSP. They're heavy, slow, expensive to license, and even more expensive to make work. New features ship by committee — when they ship at all. OriginPSA was born from running an MSP on those tools and knowing exactly which corners of the day they make miserable.

Most modern PSAs are bolt-on suites — a CRM bought from one company, a ticketing tool bought from another, a billing engine grafted on after acquisition. Each piece looks fine in isolation. The seams between them are where margin goes to die. We started from a single codebase with a single data model and built outward, so the workflows that span multiple modules (a sales lead becoming a project becoming a billable ticket becoming an invoice) actually work without re-typing data four times.

How we're different from the legacy PSAs

We don't take VC money. That sounds like a small detail until you've been on the receiving end of a PSA vendor that needs to triple revenue every year to satisfy investors. The pressure shows up as price hikes, paywalled features that used to be standard, aggressive land-and-expand sales tactics, and a general feeling that the vendor and the customer have stopped being on the same side. OriginPSA is funded by customer revenue. Our incentive is to keep customers, not to extract them.

We ship our own integrations. Most PSAs treat integrations as a separately-priced upsell, often via a third-party marketplace where the connector vendor and the PSA both take a cut. Our integrations with QuickBooks, NinjaOne, NetBox, CIPP, RingCentral, GoTo Connect, net2phone, and the rest are built and maintained by us — at no extra cost on plans that include them. When something breaks, you have one company to call.

We're built on a modern stack. The big-name PSAs run on architectures that pre-date smartphones. OriginPSA is built on modern frameworks with proper API design, real-time data, and a UI that doesn't feel like it's rendering through a fax machine. Our team can ship a feature in days that would take quarters in legacy codebases.

Managed service providers, IT consulting firms, AV integrators, and adjacent professional services companies — typically 5 to 200 staff, with a real services business (billable time, ticket queues, project work) rather than pure product resale. If your team spends most of the day in tickets, time entries, project tasks, and invoicing, we're built for you.
