Alternatives → NinjaOne PSA

Looking for a NinjaOne PSA alternative?

NinjaOne PSA is six months old, no CRM, no real project management, no payments, no e-signature, no QuickBooks Desktop, no telephony. OriginPSA is PSA-first with all of those, native — and doesn't require you to also pay for NinjaOne RMM.

Why MSPs evaluate OriginPSA against NinjaOne PSA

We hear the same handful of reasons whenever NinjaOne PSA comes up in a buying conversation. The four that come up most often:

1

PSA-first, not RMM-with-a-PSA-bolt-on

NinjaOne PSA went GA in Q1 2026 — under six months ago as of this writing — added to the RMM platform to fill a gap. NinjaOne's own materials describe it as a four-module product: Billing, Ticketing, Documentation, IT Asset Management. No CRM. No real project management. No payment processing. No e-signature. OriginPSA is built from the PSA side first; the integrations to RMM (NinjaOne and others) come later.

2

No RMM bundle requirement

NinjaOne PSA's public materials position it as part of the unified NinjaOne platform — every CTA on ninjaone.com points at the bundle, and we found no public evidence of a PSA-only purchase path. If you're already deep in NinjaOne RMM, that's fine; if you'd rather pair PSA-first with your existing RMM (or no RMM), OriginPSA doesn't require a separate-vendor lock-in either way.

3

Native QuickBooks Desktop + Online + multi-currency

NinjaOne PSA integrates only with QuickBooks Online — their FAQ states explicitly that QuickBooks Desktop is not supported. OriginPSA syncs two-way with both QBO and QBD via the qbXML QBWC connector. Multi-currency is also conditioned on QBO's currency list for NinjaOne; OriginPSA handles multi-currency natively with daily FX-rate refresh.

4

Project management is a real module, not 'tickets that convert to projects'

NinjaOne's marketing copy describes tickets that 'easily convert into PSA-tracked projects' — no public mention of milestones, change orders, budget vs actual, profitability, customer-portal project view, or any of the things MSPs running fixed-fee implementations actually need. OriginPSA's project module ships all of those: signed change orders with budget stacking, five milestone-completion-criteria types, customer-portal read-only project view, T&M / fixed-fee / mixed billing modes.

Where NinjaOne PSA is genuinely strong

We don't recommend switching unless one of the reasons above outweighs everything NinjaOne PSA does well. Honest list:

  • Deepest RMM-to-PSA integration available — act directly from tickets (Remote Registry, Task Manager, CMD, scripts) because RMM + PSA share the same platform
  • Automatic device + user context on every ticket; no manual asset lookup
  • Automated remediation captured + billed automatically — scripted fixes turn into revenue
  • Strong mobile app shared with the RMM (same iOS/Android codebase)
  • Trust Center with SOC 2 Type II + SOC 3 + ISO 27001:2022 + HIPAA + GDPR attestations
  • Multi-tenant scale proven on the RMM side — they run tens of thousands of MSP customers

To be clear: NinjaOne RMM is excellent. If you're running NinjaOne RMM today and what you need is basic ticketing + billing + asset management tightly bound to the device fleet, NinjaOne PSA may be the right answer. The MSPs most often looking at OriginPSA INSTEAD of NinjaOne PSA are the ones who: want a PSA that doesn't require RMM, need real project management for fixed-fee implementations, sync to QuickBooks Desktop, run multi-currency billing, or need native e-signature and payment processing inside the PSA — none of which NinjaOne PSA covers today.

What migration looks like

If you're already on NinjaOne RMM and used the trial of NinjaOne PSA, the migration to OriginPSA is straightforward — most of the data you care about lives in QuickBooks and on the customer record, which we both read from the same accounting truth source.

  1. Trial OriginPSA alongside NinjaOne PSA. Same RMM stays under both during the trial; you're testing the PSA side only.
  2. Export from NinjaOne PSA. Customers, contacts, agreements, tickets, time entries, invoices. NinjaOne supports CSV export from each module.
  3. Connect QuickBooks to OriginPSA. Same QBO file you've been pointing NinjaOne at. The drift-detection banner will surface any pre-cutover mismatches before they become reconciliation problems.
  4. RMM stays where it is. NinjaOne RMM keeps managing endpoints; OriginPSA integrates to NinjaOne RMM via webhook subscriptions for device + alert + script-result events. The act-from-ticket workflow becomes click-out-to-NinjaOne rather than embedded — that's the one workflow you give up by moving the PSA half.
  5. Cut PSA traffic over. New tickets to OriginPSA. NinjaOne PSA goes read-only for open-ticket cleanup; cancel the PSA add-on at the contract renewal window.

Honest caveat: the embedded "Remote Registry / Task Manager / CMD from inside a ticket" experience is genuinely deeper in NinjaOne PSA than a webhook-bridged integration can match. If that workflow is the centerpiece of how your team operates, evaluate carefully before moving. For most MSPs, the click-out-to-RMM tradeoff is worth the PSA depth gain — but it's a real tradeoff to make consciously.

Pricing comparison

NinjaOne PSA pricing is quote-only — no per-user or per-tier price is published. Third-party benchmarking (May 2026) puts NinjaOne RMM at roughly $3-5 per managed device per month, with PSA priced as a separate add-on on top. The exact PSA price requires a sales conversation, and we haven't found evidence that NinjaOne sells PSA without the RMM bundle.

OriginPSA at the equivalent feature set is $49/user/monthon Professional, month-to-month, no minimum, no required RMM bundle. The price isn't the main reason to choose OriginPSA over NinjaOne PSA today — feature depth is — but the predictability of the bill is a real second-order benefit.
